What ingredients are used in Homer Hot sauces?

How hot are your sauces?

We offer a range of heat levels to suit all palates, from mild to fiery.

  • Our Habanero Snap is our mildest sauce, with a gentle heat and bursts of citrusy flavor.
  • Our Ghost Snap offers a balanced experience with equal parts heat and flavor.
  • The Reaper Snap is our hottest sauce, designed for spice enthusiasts and seasoned hot sauce lovers.

We recommend starting with our mildest sauce and working your way up to the hotter ones.

What are Scoville units?

Scoville units are a measure of the heat level of chili peppers.

The higher the Scoville units, the hotter the pepper.

  • Habanero Snap: 100,000 - 350,000 SHU 
  • Ghost Snap: 850,000 - 1,040,000 SHU 
  • Reaper Snap: 1.5 - 2.2 million SHU

Remember, these are Pepper Scoville ratings. The final heat level of the sauce might differ slightly due to other ingredients and processing.

What does "slow-cooked in small batches" mean?

When we say our sauces are "slow-cooked in small batches," we mean that we simmer them gently over low heat in small quantities. This allows the flavors to develop more fully and results in a richer, more complex flavor profile than mass-produced sauces

What is the shelf life of Homer Hot sauces?

Our sauces are crafted to ensure freshness. Unopened bottles have a shelf life of 9-12 months, while opened bottles have a shelf life of one month at room temperature and 6 months when refrigerated.
